Well, it’s been just over a week now since Cormin and I left for our “fishing” trip and we’re now in the employ of a group of mercenaries known as Red Company who reside up in the Hinterlands. They seem a nice bunch of guys and it sure feels good to be on the move again. I’ll be sending any wage I get to the cathedral and the orphanages of Stormwind. I don’t need any more money than what I was getting from the Stormwind Infantry and I was helping nobody sitting in the garrison.
Our first trip out with the company occurred about two days after we arrived. Cormin enjoyed this trip as it involved blowing up a former alliance mine which had been taken over by forsaken over in Hillsbrad. Little did we know that the forsaken were not the mines main residents. Seems they were not using it as a mine at all but as a horrid spider growing plant. The remaining residents of Hillsbrad were still there in a sense, light rest their souls. After seeing that I am no longer feeling any guilt for leaving the sixth behind.
The last few days we have been positioned over in Gilneas, I swear Cormin and Degnan were right when they said it never stopped raining! This was another mission which Cormin should have enjoyed as it involved blowing up forsaken plague wagons and setting mines throughout the forsaken camps. I imagine he would have enjoyed it more if he hadn’t gotten himself injured though. I wonder if Almarov will come and help me finish my training soon so I can be of more use…

Stormwind Infantry Journal abstracts:
Stormwind recruitment.
Can’t believe it’s been a week since I signed up for the infantry now, I think I’ll be happy here. I enjoyed the brief training session we did on sword play whilst we were there, I don’t think I was as bad as I thought but I should be more careful with my shield.. I didn’t mean to hit him that hard with it!
Been 2 days since we left Theramore now for Stormwind, journey was long and dangerous…One of the guys got attacked by some Blackrock orcs after being separated from the group in Burning steppes. He was rescued but he was extremely lucky to get off with only three broken ribs. I don’t think I’ll ever get all the ash out of my hair, still finding it now.
Got my first birthday present in a few years today, bottle of Bourbon from Cormin; he seems a nice guy but he does get in trouble a fair bit by the sounds of it… I’d offer him some of it but he’s trying to lay off the booze. All the other guys seem really nice too, one even suggested we were a family now- it’ll be nice to have friends again.
Was nice to be in Stormwind for my birthday; though I admit standing around trying to recruit blatant idiots wasn’t really my idea of a smashing time. Did find a couple of recruits though which is good, will be glad to get the training out of the way now, I only hope the new ones know their hilt from their blades. Unsure where we’re being deployed after training; though I’m not sure the NCO’s know that yet... not that they’d tell me if they did I suppose. Apparently they were only promoted the day before I joined- They’re doing a good job all things considered.
2nd Entry: Paladin initiate.
Well been in the infantry a couple of weeks now and so much has happened in that time. Maive managed to get herself poisoned, good job I over heard that guy Dellatas talk about griffons to Redridge or I’d have never made it in time to help her out. Dr Branson was very quick to respond too thank goodness. She’s fully recovered now, though I do wonder what she could have done to poison herself like that. Roskil and Cormin are becoming very good friends of mine. Cormin seems to be struggling with cutting down his drinking though; I will have to try harder to help him out. I haven’t been a very good friend there so far. We went Dwarven fishing last night in effort to cheer him up, not sure how effective it was though.
I started my paladin training up again; hope to become good enough to be a battle chaplain in time. My mentor is a nice guy called Alexei Almarov. I’m gutted we can’t do our second lesson in person just yet, we’re suppose to be away on a training week though I don’t know what has happened to the CO, we’re stuck in Westbrook still. He sent me a bunch of reading material though to keep me going. Finding them really interesting, can’t wait to talk to him about them. Still liking the infantry but my feet are starting to itch now, time to make a move... I hope the CO turns up soon.

Goodbye Westfall
Today was my last in Westfall for some time I hope. I still remember when I didn’t want to leave for clinging onto the past. My parent’s farm is long gone though now and I have very few friends left in Westfall after the massacre in Grizzly Hills with those light cursed worgen. There are far greater threats to the Kingdoms of Stormwind though now, it is time I broadened my guard to more than just the border’s of my homeland.
I wrote to a recruiting officer of the Stormwind Infantry Sixth Battalion a few days back now, he responded this morning. I am to travel to Theramore on Saturday to be recruited. I may have to go earlier than that as it depends when I can borrow a horse to take myself there; maybe someone would allow me to borrow a griffon?
I would have liked to apply for a position as battle chaplain, but I would need to finish my Paladin training first. Hmm. I should write to Northshire Abbey for some assistance when I have the time.
